Team presence and status

Presence helps teammates see when you are working, where you are, and what you are focused on. Set working hours, a custom status, and daily check-ins that feed calendar and automations.

Who this is for

All workspace members. Check-in and status visibility appear in Chat and team views on Business+.

Before you start

  • A profile on the workspace.

  • Permission to edit your own profile.

Steps

  1. Open your profile from the sidebar footer.

  2. Edit working hours. Your schedule feeds calendar auto-schedule and workload views.

  3. Set a status emoji and message. Status appears to teammates in chat and team views.

  4. Submit today's location (office, remote, and similar) from the check-in picker.

  5. Presence and custom status appear in direct messages and team views on Business+.

  6. Open Calendar and check the Away today bar when the leave layer is on to see who is off.

What you should see

Teammates see your working hours, custom status, and check-in location in Chat and team views. Direct messages show live presence when teammates are active. Approved leave and check-ins can trigger workspace automations.

Troubleshooting

  • Teammates cannot see my status Confirm you saved your profile and that your workspace is on Business+ for team presence in Chat.

  • Auto-schedule ignores my hours Update working hours on your profile or ask an admin about workspace calendar defaults.

  • Check-in did not trigger an automation Ask an admin to confirm the automation uses a check-in trigger and is active for your workspace.

Common questions

Do check-ins replace leave requests?

No. Check-ins show where you are working today. Approved leave still appears on the calendar leave layer.

Who can see my working hours?

Working hours inform scheduling and workload views for teammates with access to those features.

Can admins require check-ins?

Automations can react to check-ins. There is no separate admin toggle described here; use automations for follow-up actions.
