Bulk editing tasks

Select multiple tasks in list view to update status, dates, assignees, tags, and links at once without opening each detail panel.

Who this is for

Workspace members with edit access to tasks in the current list. Bulk delete respects safeguards when tasks have linked work.

Before you start

  • List view open on a task list or folder.

  • Permission to edit the tasks you want to change.

Steps

  1. Open Tasks and switch to List view.

  2. Use the checkbox on each row or the header checkbox to select all visible tasks.

  3. The bulk bar shows how many tasks are selected. Use Status, Priority, Due, or Assign for quick updates.

  4. Open the More menu for start date, do date, time estimate, tags, OKR, KPI, Wiki links, and Move to list.

  5. Click Done on the bulk bar to exit selection mode when finished.

What you should see

All selected tasks update with the values you chose. Status changes apply immediately. Assign opens a member picker with Unassign all. Delete removes selected tasks after confirmation when allowed.

Troubleshooting

  • Checkboxes are missing Bulk select works in list view only. Switch from Board, Timeline, or Workload to List.

  • Bulk delete is blocked Some tasks may have linked subtasks, dependencies, or protected content. Remove links or delete tasks individually.

  • Do date bulk action is missing Do date bulk updates appear only when Do-date planning is enabled in workspace task settings.

Common questions

Do bulk updates affect subtasks?

Parent selection does not automatically include subtasks unless they are visible and checked in the current list view.

Which status values can I set in bulk?

To Do, In Progress, and Completed are available from the bulk Status menu.

Can I bulk move tasks to another list?

Yes. Open More → Move to list and pick the destination list.
